Ceiling panel Fabrication

The Design

The design was derived from the original plans created by the Architect. The CAD was used to create vector files in Illustrator as seen to the left.

Fabrication

I used the vector files I created to CNC the panels out of a high density, pre primed foam. This way the panels would be light and easy to handle during installation.

Since the panel are pre-primed, it made it easy for the contractor to paint the panels on site, to match the ceiling color.

Final Product

The ceiling panels add a wonderful texture to a space that other wise feels hard and sterile with all the smooth stone. They add interest in a place that one would not expect.
